There’s something timeless about weddings that blend old-world charm with island elegance—and that’s exactly what this day was all about.
From the intimate, stained-glass-filled ceremony at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church to the romantic courtyard reception at Café Julia, this wedding was the perfect example of what it looks like to celebrate love in a way that feels both sacred and joyful.
We had the honor of designing the florals and supporting this sweet couple with month-of planning and coordination, ensuring every detail flowed seamlessly from “I do” to the last dance under the lights.
Ceremony at St. Peter’s Church
St. Peter’s, located in downtown Honolulu, offered the most beautiful blend of tradition and reverence. The couple said their vows beneath a striking stained glass cross while sunlight streamed in through the arched windows—a sacred moment surrounded by their closest loved ones.
Our floral approach was simple and refined: white garden roses, spray roses, lisianthus, stock, and touches of tropical greenery to tie in that soft nod to Hawai‘i. The bride carried a classic, gathered bouquet full of soft blooms and scent-rich touches like tuberose and jasmine. No aisle petals or arches here—just the architecture of the space itself doing the talking.
Reception at Café Julia
Just down the road, Café Julia welcomed guests with its Mediterranean-style courtyard, creamy pillars, and timeless charm. We love this venue for its versatility—it works beautifully for both intimate gatherings and larger receptions, all while being centrally located in Honolulu.
To keep things simple and elegant, the reception tables featured bud vase centerpieces—each holding just a few curated stems to let the beauty of each bloom shine. Paired with natural linens and a modern black-and-white palette for the wedding party, the overall vibe felt elevated but approachable.
From bridal party portraits on the front steps of the YWCA to spontaneous downtown crosswalk moments, the entire day felt like a love letter to both heritage and fun.
